Vintage silver plate champagne cooler, made by Birks-Ellis of Canada, circa 1930s. Trademarked Birks-Ellis Regency Plate, F.S.M.
The cooler is designed in the manner of a wooden bucket, with an ornate foliate rim and lion mask handles reminiscent of English Georgian period silver.
Minor bleeding of the copper is evident on the handles. Wear consistent with age and use.
The cooler has a presentation engraving that reads:

Jan. 31st 1936
