Spratling sterling silver and tortoise shell bookmark.
American born William Spratling (1900-1967) was an architect, artist and author who moved to the Mexican silver mining town of Taxco. In 1929 he opened his own silversmith shop, basing his designs on Pre-Columbian Mexican art and jewellery found in archaeological excavations.
This piece is dated 1956-1965.
