Harlequin and Jester majolica mask plaques, by ceramic artist Giovanni Danti of Florence, Italy, circa 1960s. Danti is well known for his series of masks inspired from traditional Renaissance costumes.
The Harlequin mask has minor loss to the hair; there are two small breaks on the left side and four on the right. The Jester has just one minor chip to the hair on the left side. The loss is not readily noticeable as the hair and the pottery body are close in colour.
Wear consistent with age and use.
Both masks are 9 1/4” (23.5cm) wide by 9” (22.9cm) high, 2 1/2” (6.4cm) thick.
