Moorcroft vase in the Anemone pattern. Designed by William Moorcroft pre-war, put into production by his son Walter circa 1945.
The vase is decorated with Anemones in various stages of bloom; in cream, plum, red and blue against green foliage on a teal blue ground.
The vase is trademarked with the impressed factory mark and painted Walter Moorcroft signature used in the period of 1945-49, as well as the impressed mark Potter To HM The Queen. *
10 1/4” (26cm) high, 8 3/4” (22.3cm) diameter.
* Queen Mary, the consort of King George V, granted a Royal Warrant to William Moorcroft in 1928. In 1946 the title was transferred to his son Walter, allowing him to continue to use “Potter to Her Majesty the Queen”. The Royal Warrant expired in 1978, 25 years after the death of Queen Mary.
