Victorian Hand Painted Cabinet Plate, Circa 1875-80

Victorian hand painted cabinet plate, made by Royal Worcester for Caldwell in Philadelphia, circa 1875-80.  This lovely plate depicts a butterfly flying over multiple pink blossoms.

J.E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia was established in 1839 as watchmakers, developing over the 19th century into a luxury retailer.  In the late Victorian era richly decorated porcelain wares from England were made exclusively for Caldwell, including Royal Worcester, Minton and Spode.

 9 1/4” (23.5cm) diameter.
