Victorian papier-mâché tea caddy, with graceful concave front panel.  Decorated on the top and front panels with Mother of Pearl inlay in the form of floral sprays.  

The metal foil lined interior is intact, as is the escutcheon but the internal lock is absent.

English, circa 1850.

This most unusual box will be sure to delight!

5 1/4” (13.4cm) square at the base, 4 1/4” (10.8cm) high.
