A wonderful antique 18kt yellow gold ring that features 1 oval cabochon opal, est. 0.30ct with a greenish-orange play of colour; 2 additional oval cabochon opals , est. 0.28ct and a greenish-orange play of colour as well. It is further set with 4 old European cut diamonds, est. 0.24ct (SI-I1 clarity: I-J colour). The ring is Hallmarked Chester, England. The actual year date stamp is obscured; as is the maker's mark. It may have been made by John Mantle, circa 1900. The ring is currently size 4.5 (4 1/2) and weighs 3.2 grams.
