Antique micro mosaic picture frame, made in Italy, late 19th century.  

Coloured glass mosaic set in a brass frame.

It is rare to find a large micro mosaic picture frame; most are quite a bit smaller.

There is very minor loss to the mosaic; wear appropriate for age and use.

The overall dimensions are 8 3/4” (22.3cm) by 6 3/4” (17.2cm).

The internal oval frame is 5 3/4” (14.7cm) by 4 1/4” (10.8cm).
