Product Description

English sterling silver, glass and leather hip flask, hallmarks for Sheffield 1912.  Made by the prolific silversmithing firm of James Dixon & Son, established in 1806 on Silver Street, Sheffield, subsequently Cornish Place, Sheffield, England.  The glass flask has a protective leather sheath on the upper part with a spirit window.  The lower silver bottom is removable to use as a cup, which has a gold washed interior.  The flask has a domed hinged cover with bayonet fitting and an internal cork seal, in good and usable condition.  Monogrammed on one side only “HL”.

5 1/4” (13.3cm) by 3 1/4” (8.3cm), 1 1/8” (2.9cm) depth.
