Art Deco Bursley Ware orange lustre dragon vase, English, circa 1920-30.  Made by H.J. Wood Ltd., of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England.  The high lustre vase is very reflective and hard to capture the colours accurately.  The dragons are a very dark green with red elements, all outlined in gilding against a solid orange ground.  The dragons depicted are five-clawed, a symbol of divine right in Chinese folklore.

12” (30.5cm) high, 7” (17.8cm) diameter at the widest.
