Art Deco Ercuis silver plate two handled comport, French, circa 1930.
The body is of silver plate, resting on a stone plinth. The stepped base supports a fluted pedestal, upon which is a flat bowl that in turn is finished with a bead trim and reeded handles.
8 1/2” (21.5cm) high at the handles, 11 3/4” (30cm) across the handles.
Ercuis was established in 1867 in Ercuis, France to produce ecclesiastical silver. By 1880 they had opened a boutique in Paris to market flatware, hollow ware and decorative items. Ercuis is known for high quality workmanship and is still in business today.
