Art Deco Spode Velamour line kicking Shire horse bookends, model # K431.

The Velamour line was introduced in 1932, possibly designed by Eric Olsen.  The creamy white glazed body of the line has a soft sculptural quality.  

The Velamour line was interrupted by the beginning of the war in 1939 and reintroduced in 1947.

4 1/4” (10.8cm) by 3 1/2” (8.9cm) at the base, 7” (17.8cm) high.
