Art Nouveau sterling silver salad servers, “Poppy” pattern by Gorham Manufacturing Company, of Providence, RI, patent design registration of 1902. The pattern is double struck, with three dimensional blossoms on both the front and back. These servers were made for prestigious retailers Mermod & Jaccard Jewelers of St. Louis, MO. One of Mermod & Jaccard important commissions was designing the medals for the 1904 Olympics, held in St. Louis.
Engraved on the front in intertwined Script, possibly VPB.
