Established in Baltimore in 1815, Kirk is the oldest surviving silversmithing firm in the USA. This exquisitely intricate Repousse style of ornamentation was introduced by Samuel Kirk in 1828 and has been popular ever since, often referred to as
“Baltimore Silver”.
Fully marked on the base: S. Kirk & Son, 925/1000
which dates this water pitcher to the time period of 1868-1896.
The pitcher has the original monogrammed engraving of IMB in intertwined Script.
