Product Description

Mid-Century miniature bronze sculpture of a dancing African woman, made by Richard Rohac.  Richard Rohac (1906-56) was a Viennese designer and metal worker who trained at the Werkstatte Hagenauer Wien (Vienna, Austria) as a teenager, opening his own business in 1932.  After the interruption of WWII he resumed his business making useful household items that were in demand during post-war rebuilding.  Rohac was soon able turn his talents back to designing decorative items and through the 1950s his sculptural work focused on African and Asian figures and jungle animals.

His logo is a back to back RR within a square and “Made In Austria”.
