Baroque inspired 830 Fine Silver sugar box, Norwegian, early 20th century. The box is in the shape of a bombay chest, with repeating shell motifs and repousse flowers against a stippled ground, raised on floral bracket feet. There is a blank central cartouche on both the front and back that is suitable for engraving. Also, the underneath of the box is undecorated and could hold a larger presentation engraving. Impressed marks on the front rim are O.B (maker or retailer) and 830S, the grade of silver. The shape and size was intended as a sugar box, but it is an ideal size for your favourite jewel or keepsake. 5 1/2” (14cm) by 4 1/2” (11.4cm), 4 1/2” (11.4cm) high.
