Antique Bennington pottery bowls.  The brown glazed, mottled earthenware was made by a variety of American potters.  The most prolific being in Bennington, Vermont and over time it all became known as Bennington.  The majority of the pieces made were utilitarian in nature; mixing bowls, batter jugs, spittoons and other every day household objects of the mid to late 19th century.
