Empire style birds eye solid maple pedestal table, made by the Ashton Furniture Workshop, Ottawa, ON, circa 1980.   Birds eye / curly maple hardwood was a 19th century favourite for furniture makers in Ontario.  The Ashton Furniture Workshop specialized in hand crafted, traditional quality furniture.
