Product Description

Edwardian era sterling silver dresser box, made by Birks Brothers, Canada, circa 1910.

The lid is ornamented with an engraved wreath framing the monogram “M”, engraved in Old English font.  Opening the box reveals a gold washed lid and the original camel colour velvet lining.  This style of Birks trademark was used circa 1904-24.

In the Edwardian era a round hinged box of this size was made for use as a collar box; in the 21st century it is a perfect size for wristwatches or cufflinks.

5” (12.7cm) diameter, 1 3/4” (4.5cm) high.  The top is slightly domed.
