Brass and glass medallion costume jewellery by Toronto jewellery designer Rafael Alfandary.  Born in Belgrade, Serbia (then Yugoslavia), he emigrated to Canada in 1970. Through the 1970s his jewellery was worn by a wide variety of notable personalities, including Margaret Trudeau, Muhammad Ali, Lorne Green, Redd Foxx, Paul Anka and later, the singer Prince.  Rafael created the crown for the Miss Canada Beauty Contest in 1973.
