Monumental English sterling silver presentation centrepiece rose bowl and stand with Canadian provenance, fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1931.  The bowl was presented to R.A. Benoit by Louis-Alexandre Taschereau*, his uncle.   The gift was to commemorate Benoit’s nomination as Clerk to the Legislative Council of Quebec, October 2, 1929.

Made by the silversmith firm of Cooper Brothers & Sons Ltd., of Arundel St. Sheffield and Holborn Viaduct, London, England.  

The bowl can be used with the metal grate for arranging flowers, or without.

26” (66cm) by 11” (28cm), 7 1/2” (19cm) high, 13” (33cm) high on the stand.
