Carlton Ware Rouge Royale “New Mikado”, pattern # 2727 centrepiece bowl.  The pattern was first released in 1923 and made into the early 1950’s. The center is painted with polychrome enamel and elaborate gilt depictions of a Japanese-style temple and figures against a red ground with high lustre.  The reticulated rim and the pad feet are gilded. 

The bowl is in very good condition and the original paper label is intact.
