Chinese Export silver card case.  Made in China for export to the west, circa 1890-1900.    The loops on the sides were for attaching a chain for a lady to carry.  It is large enough to hold standard size business or credit cards for 21st century use.  The card case has the original personalized monogram, a super imposed “MA”.

Impressed mark:  WANG HING.

Wang Hing & Co. was established in 1854 in Canton, China, later based in Hong Kong.  By the late 19th century Export silver featuring Chinese designs, patterns and symbols became the mainstay of production.
