“Chinese Pheasants”, designed and hand signed by J. T. Jones for Crown Staffordshire.  Gilded and hand painted on bone china.

J. T. (Jack, born 1898) Jones was the Art Director for Crown Staffordshire in England for over 30 years, working for the company for 47 years, specializing in modelling birds.  

This pair are exquisitely painted in black and gold, with subtle grey shading around the neck feathers.  There is a tiny nic at the tip of one of the tail feathers, wear consistent with age and use.
