Kosta Boda “Contrast” cobalt blue glass vase, designed by Anna Ehrner *.  The Contrast series is hand blown using a process called centrifuging, which creates waves of colour intensity within the glass so no two pieces will be alike.  On this vase the technique is best seen by looking into the vase from overhead.  

Made by Kosta Boda Sweden, circa 1990s.

* Anna Ehrner is a designer and glass artist, born in 1948 in Danderyd, Stockholm, Sweden.  Ehrner studied ceramics at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) and has worked with Kosta Boda since 1974.  She became the winner of Swedish Glass in 1983 and has won the Excellent Swedish Form Award in both 1992 and 1994.
