Milan Metelak Tri-Colour Glass Bowl

Czech rainbow coloured, hand blown glass bowl.  Designed in the mid 1950s by Milan Metelak (1928-1993) for Harrachov Glassworks in Harrachov, the northern most part of  the traditional Bohemian region of the Czech Republic.  The bowl is part of the Harrtil line which featured a latticino pattern, a fine white mesh of glass strands.  The bowl is of an asymmetrical swirled shape, emulating a nautilus shell.  The colours evolve from orange to cranberry pink to chartreuse green. The bowl has 3 indentations on its rim that could allow it to be used as an ashtray also.
