Orrefors Hand Blown Glass Vase

Hand blown Orrefors vase, circa 1960s. The clear glass vase is gently spiral fluted and tapered in form, with an undulating rim. The etched signature on the base:

Orrefors SU66, indicates that it was designed by Simon Gate (1883-1945), designed in the 1930s and made in the 1960s.

7 3/4" (19.7cm) high, 7 1/4" (18.5cm) diameter at the rim.

The vase is based on Simon Gate's original designs for the lotus shape vases from the 1930's, with cut and etched figures of dancers or mermaids, on a black base.
