Royal Crown Derby Mansion House Dwarf

Royal Crown Derby “Mansion House” Dwarf *, painted with a paisley vest, standing on a grassy knoll.  The figures were modelled after dwarves who wore lavish clothing and large brim hats to be noticed.  This figure is advertising “Theatre Royal Haymarket”.

Royal Crown Derby date letters for 1970.

7” (17.8cm) high, 3” (7.6cm) diameter at the base.

*The Mansion House dwarves were based on a father and son duo who sold advertising on their hats in the Tudor era.  Royal Crown Derby first modelled the figures in the 1780s.
