Royal Crown Derby Old Avesbury Spill Vase Dated 1952

Product Details

Royal Crown Derby “Olde Avesbury” spill vase.  The pattern originated in a Royal Crown Derby pattern book dated 1932 by Albert Gregory, a well known porcelain painter of the early 20th century who worked for both Minton and Royal Crown Derby.  The inspiration is from an embroidery pattern, featuring multiple birds of paradise and peacocks with dramatic tail feathers.

The vase is RCD shape # 1758, featuring a graduated octagonal body rising from a pedestal base with a flared, foliate rim.

The vase has the Royal Crown Derby date cypher for 1952.

4 1/2” (11.5cm) high, 3 1/4” (8.3cm) diameter.
