A pair of German Hanau silver mounted decanters, circa 1880-1900.
The collars are decorated in a frieze of frolicking putti, under a stopper of embellished floral scrolls. The decanters are cut and etched clear glass of a pinched form.
The collars are marked 800 (800 Fine Silver) and have the crescent moon and crown mark (the German State mark for silver) and Germany stamped in English, suggesting that the decanters were made for export.
9 1/2” (24cm) high, 3 5/8” (9.2cm) square.
$2995 for the pair.
