Continental Porcelain Ewer With Putti

Victorian continental porcelain ewer, elaborately hand painted in pastel tones and gilded, depicting putti frolicking around the top.

The trademark stamps on the bottom: W & R. are that of Wittman & Roth, importers of foreign wares in London, England, late 19th century.  The partnership and trademark of W & R. was dissolved in late 1895.  The painted “XX over 9” mark is the manufacturer, likely Austrian or German.

The putti on the left has a small repair to his left arm, not readily noticeable.  The ewer is in very good condition considering its age and delicatensss.
