Dutch Silver & Cut Crystal Decanter

Product Details

Dutch silver and cut crystal liqueur decanter dated 1913.  The faceted decagon (10 sided) decanter is silver mounted at the base, rim and over the faceted stopper.  The silver frame is identified by the lion over the number 2, indicating 833 Fine Silver, the capital letter D in a circle is the rate letter for 1913 and the key symbol means that it was stamped for export.  The silversmith’s mark VS over xx, is Jacob van Straten of Hoorn, Netherlands, in business 1901-38.  Van Straten used this specific style of trademark 1901-18.

10” (25.4cm) high, 3 1/2” (8.9cm) diameter at the widest.
