German Jugendstil brass covered ewer with tin lining, circa 1900.

The base of the jug has an impressed mark of a shield, crossed swords, and the letters CDE; the trademark of C.D.E. Werks, Carl Deffner (1856-1948) of Esslingen, Germany.

15 1/4” (38.7cm) high, 6 1/2” (16.5cm) across the spout to handle.
