Rococo Style German Silver & Crystal Claret Jugs

Opulent Silver and cut glass claret jugs, so very rare to have a matched pair!  This elaborate Rococo influenced claret jugs are etched crystal with 800 Fine Silver mounts, with the gilding on the inside of the cover and collar.  Identified by the crescent moon and crown mark used in Germany, post 1888.  The claret jugs are crested on one side with a five pointed coronet above a monogram, possibly “HM”.  A five pointed coronet is the symbol for knights and nobles in many central European countries.

12 1/2” (31.7cm) high, 6” (15.2cm) across the spout to handle.
