Victorian sterling silver punch bowl/presentation trophy, hallmarks for London 1889. Made by the silversmith partnership (and brothers) of Walter & John Barnard, retailed by Chapple & Mantell 32 Strand, City of Westminster (central London).
The bowl is decorated from the top down with a frieze of interlocking S curves with floral flourishes, a rope twist band, festoons of floral garlands with two blank shields front and back (suitable for engraving), rising from a fluted gadroon pedestal foot.
