WMF Jugendstil Claret Jug circa 1900

Product Details

Jugendstil WMF (Wurttembergische Metallwaremfabrik) claret jug, made in Germany, circa 1900.  The claret jug has silver plate mounts on cut glass and is in very good condition.  It is marked on the handle WMFB, which is one of the trademarks used circa 1886-1903.  The B denotes that it is plated on Britannia metal.

13 1/2” (33.3cm) high at the thumb grip, 5” (12.7cm) diameter at the widest.

* Jugendstil is German for “Youth Style”.  It is the version of Art Nouveau seen in central Europe, primarily Germany and Austria, circa 1895-1910.
