Waterhouse, Hatfield & Co. Sheffield Plate Wine Coolers, circa 1836-47

Product Details

Antique Sheffield plate wine coolers, made by Waterhouse, Hatfield & Co. of Portobello Place, Sheffield, England.  John Waterhouse and Edward Hatfield were in business producing both sterling silver and Sheffield plate wares, circa 1836-47.

The wine coolers are in the shape of graduated cylinders with four bands of reeded trim and lion mask and ring handles.  There is minor wear to the silver plating.  The copper base metal is showing on the high points; what Sheffield plate enthusiasts refer to as “bleeding”.

7 3/4”(19.7cm) high, 7 1/2” (19cm) diameter.

$4995 for the pair.
