Victorian Gaskell & Chambers beer pulls / tap handles, circa 1860-80. G & C were the most prolific English Barfitters and Beer engine manufacturers of the late 19th and 20th centuries. Located in Birmingham, the company was founded in 1797.
The company was known for it solid white metal fittings, referred to as Mandal Silver, a silver coloured nickel alloy that looked like silver but was easy to maintain in commercial establishments.
The pulls have earthenware handles; one in a floral pattern on a green background and the other in a solid cream colour. Both pulls are stamped Gaskells Mandal Silver.
The pulls are 21” (53.3cm) long.
The mounts are 4 3/4” (12.1cm) in diameter.
