Victorian Sterling Silver Hip Flask, Sheffield 1899

Victorian sterling silver, glass and leather hip flask, hallmarks for Sheffield 1899.  Made by the prolific silversmithing firm of James Dixon & Son, established in 1806 on Silver Street, Sheffield, subsequently Cornish Place, Sheffield, England.  The glass flask has a protective leather sheath on the upper part with a spirit window.  The lower silver bottom is removable to use as a cup, which has a gold washed interior.  The flask has a domed hinged cover with bayonet fitting and an internal cork seal, in good and usable condition.
