Victorian Sterling Silver Hip Flask, Birmingham 1899

Product Details

Victorian sterling silver, glass and leather hip flask, hallmarks for Birmingham 1899.  Made by the prolific silversmithing firm of James Dixon & Son, established in 1806 on Silver Street, Sheffield, subsequently Cornish Place, Sheffield, England.  The glass flask has a protective leather sheath on the upper part with a spirit window.  The lower silver bottom is removable to use as a cup, which has a gold washed interior.  The flask has a domed hinged cover with bayonet fitting and an internal cork seal, in good and usable condition.

6 3/4” (17.2cm) by 3 1/2” (8.9cm), 1 1/2” (3.9cm) depth.
