Victorian Wedgwood Imari Biscuit Barrel

Product Details

Victorian Wedgwood bone china Imari biscuit barrel with silver plate mounts, handle and cover.  Made in England, circa 1879-1890.  The Imari inspired pattern is iron oxide red and gold with just a little of the cobalt blue.  The silver plate mounts are in very good condition, including the floral finial.  The backstamp is partially worn but is identifiable as the red Portland vase mark first used in 1879, but without the addition of England, dating it before 1891.

6 1/4” (15.8cm) high to the top of the finial, 8 1/2” (21.5cm) high to the top of the handle, 5 3/4” (14.6cm) diameter at the base.

Provenance:  The Rickerby Collection
