Beardmore Canadian Provincial Flags Plate circa 1907-13

Antique Canadian Provincial flags plate, made in England, circa 1907-13.  This was the 9 province emblem flag that was used circa 1907-22. *  The plate is hand painted with a transferware border.  The plate is unmarked but is part of the National Emblems series, made by Frank Beardmore & Co. of England. **

The plate is in very good condition.

* Alberta and Saskatchewan joined Confederation in 1905, with their updated provincial flags added by 1907.  This was the flag used to represent Canada nationally until King George V granted full Armorial bearings to the Dominion of Canada in November of 1921;  in use by 1922.

** Frank Beardmore established his business in partnership with John Christie at Sutherland Pottery, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent in 1900.  The partnership was short lived and by 1903 the company was known as Frank Beardmore & Co., in business until 1913.
