George II Era Style Sterling Silver Candlesticks, Birmingham 1969

Product Details

A fine pair of sterling silver candlesticks, hallmarked Birmingham 1969.  From the silversmiths J. B. Chatterley & Sons Ltd. of Newtown Road, Birmingham, in business circa 1925-93.  The candlesticks are made in the manner of the silversmith William Cafe, George II era cast silver candlesticks circa 1740s.  Featured period design elements include the lobed column and stylized shell corners, with a well on the base to contain melted wax run off.  The candlesticks are fully hallmarked, including the original bobeches.  The candlesticks have a substantial weight and are  in very good condition.

8 1/4” (21cm) high, 4 3/8” (11.1cm) square at the base.

1137.0 grams total weight.
