Stuart crystal candlesticks, made in England, mid 20th century.  The traditional design incorporates a wide candle well 1 1/4” (3.2cm) diameter, a tapered and facetted cut column and a starburst cut base.

10 1/4” (26cm) high, 5” (12.7cm) diameter at the base.

Stuart crystal was established in England in the late 1880s and known for its high quality cut designs on tableware and presentation pieces.  Stuart produced crystal stemware for the dining rooms of the White Star Line, including the Titanic and for The Queen Mary in the 1930s.  The company existed independently until 1995 when it was bought out by the Waterford Wedgwood group and ceased production entirely in 2001.
