Vintage De Vecchi Sterling Silver Flor Vase / Candlestick

Monumental sterling silver vase / candlestick, part of the “Flor” collection made by  De Vecchi silversmiths of Milano (Milan) Italy.  The firm is a multi-generational silversmithing family, established by Piero de Vecchi in 1935, taken over by his son Gabriele in 1962 and subsequently by Gabriele’s two sons, Matteo and Giacomo.  

The Flor collection blends the form of a vase and candlestick in a single stem flower and was available in at least 4 different sizes.  At 181/2” high, this is the largest of the sizes made.  Trademarked 925 in an oval, De Vecchi and a polygon containing a star, 665 MI, representing the silversmith’s number and Milano, Italy.
