George I Style Sterling Silver Candlesticks, London 1895

Victorian sterling silver candlesticks, in the style of George I era candlesticks, English hallmarks for London 1895.  The marks are worn with age and hard to decipher on the candlesticks but easily seen on the bobeches.  The silversmith company is the multi-generation firm of Thomas Bradbury & Sons Ltd., located on Arundel Street, Sheffield, England.  

The square based sticks have cut corners and sunken well bases (the 18th century design was to catch dripping wax).  The original matched bobeches are removable for easy cleaning and storage.

A classic style for three centuries!

7” (17.8cm) high, 4” (10.2cm) square vases.
