Victorian era silver candlesticks with etched glass hurricane shades. The four sided base of the candlesticks feature different village scenes in relief, including churches, bridges and windmills in an idyllic picturesque setting.
The punch marks are attributed to Austria, circa 1890.
The candlesticks were re-presented in 1925 for an anniversary gift.
The inscription reads:
Presented to Mrs. MacDonald
By the Boys and Staff of St. Andrew’s College
On the 25th Anniversary of her Wedding Day
Dec. 26th 1925
The candlesticks (only) are 12” (30.5cm) high.
The total height is 20” (50.8cm) high.
