Art Nouveau bronze figural bronze with ivory features, by the sculptor Peter Tereszczuk (1875-1963).    Tereszczuk was born in Wybudow, Ukraine in 1875, studying sculpture at the Vienna School of Arts & Crafts (circa 1893-99) under the sculptor Hermann Klotz.  The majority of Tereszczuk’s work was made between 1895 and 1925 in Vienna. 

Tereszczuk specialized in modelling people, often children and usually with hand carved ivory features, as demonstrated in this figure.  

The bronze has been mounted to a stone plinth made of green onyx and black marble and wired for electricity.

18 1/4” (46.4cm) total height, 12” (30.5cm) height of bronze only,

4 3/4” (12.1cm) diameter at the base.
