Rosenthal Porcelain Sculpture Modelled By Fritz Klimsch

Rosenthal porcelain sculpture , “Die Hockende” (the kneeling one) modelled by Fritz Klimsch (German, 1870-1960).  The kneeling nude woman sculpture has an undecorated matte glaze finish and is intentionally modelled to resemble the texture of a stone carving.  Klimsch designed this figure for Rosenthal circa 1935.

Signed F. Klimisch on the base, with both the original Rosenthal paper label and stamped trademark on the bottom.

16 1/4” (41.3cm) high, 9” (22.9cm) diameter.

$2700.

 

The sculpture was one of the props used in “The Kennedys” family miniseries filmed in Toronto 2010.
