Rare Yellow Ground Paragon Cabbage Rose Dessert Set, Signed A.J. Plant

Paragon Fine Bone China dessert service, with an abundance of pink cabbage roses on a rare yellow ground and heady gilded with a stylized lace / bellflower border. The plates and pedestal cake plates are signed A. J. Plant and all the pieces are trademarked with the Paragon Double Warrant back-stamp, used 1939-1949. The Double Warrant was in recognition of the patronage of Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth (the wife of George VI, the future Queen Mother).  The set is also identified by the hand painted pattern number 2 . 923/7 over 5.

The set consists of 2 pedestal cake plates, 9 coffee cans (cups) & saucers, 12 dessert plates.  The set is in very good condition and the gilding is pristine.

The pedestal cake plates are 5” (12.7cm) high, 9” (22.8cm) diameter.

The coffee cans are 2 3/8” (6cm) high, 2” (5.1cm) diameter at the rim.

The saucers are 4 3/8” (11.1cm) diameter.

The plates are 8 3/4” (22.2cm) diameter.
