Rare yellow ground Royal Crown Derby biscuit dish, Osmaston Road factory, Derby date cypher for 1885.  The floral sprays are depicted in two shades of gilding, with the burnishing difference enhancing the dimensionality.

Yellow is a difficult colour to fire as it was unstable in the kiln, making it hard to fire to a consistent quality.
